1. The CW founders convened a special meeting on April 8 to discuss our current progress in canvassing the local populace. RN Edith Fuentes has presently made direct contact with 120 qualifying local residents, discovered 16 cases of previously unknown cancer and is taking the necessary steps to procure treatment for each. This meeting was attended by Dra. Patricia Vergen, Director, San Felipe branch of the Social Security Clinic. 2. A special Founders meeting will be convened at 8:30 a.m. Thursday to discuss the continuing development of our progress profile. Among the many agenda items is contact with Mexican and American corporations, including the pharmaceutical industry, for financial support. 3. The next meeting of our C.W. STEERING COMMITTEE will convene at 10:00 a.m. Thrusday, April 10 at La Plazita (in downtown San Felipe). 4. The local Red Cross is assisting the Founders Committee with the development of an information data base displaying the number of local resident contacts, the number and types of cancer cases discovered, the number of mammorgrams ordered, the number of cancer patients presently under treatment and the number of treated patients in remission or cured. |
